Not sure which one you mean, although I did see a set of 4 NOS chrome hubcaps go for $400 a while back. True NOS VW.

On the inside of the hubcap will have a VW stamp in it along with a number (corresponding year I believe)
I have to agree with Everett--Way too much Denairo for the Hubs and if U don't know what to look for You can get Pinched for some serious Cash. I would go with some good quality Re-maned German's and keep on keepin On!

KDF emblem. I'm guessing that the ones that bughaus sells are reproductions. Wink

http://www.bughaus.com/hubcap_-_101-150m.htm

Note they are "Unavailable" oh and Westcoast Metric, yeah UNAVAILABLE over there as well....unavailable as in hasn't had any in 4years!!!

Those hubcap are the made from rare "unobtainum" I've been searching for YEARS....typically referred to as the "Kdf Windmill" pattern. I MAY be getting another set or two.....but they ain't cheap!

P.S-Those are my hubcaps pictured Very Happy

Lorenzo has sold over 300 sets of those and Mike Hornbecker sold several dozen himself, and they are currently being made in Mexico. Just when they get here is the question. As for rarity-----Like I said, they are out there. and if the price goes up high enough----they won't be rare at all. Wink

If they are currently being made...who do I contact to get some?

The manufacture that I'm in contact with made 1 run, then was done...NO SHOPS that I can find have them for sale...my set came from Germany...

If you know something I don't then pass it along.

I will try to find out for you-----the guy(enrique) had a web site or email address and if I can I will get it for you. I tried to buy the set off Rich Kimball's bus but it sold with the bus. Jeff Kritz had some awhile back and I will check with him. I will see Lorenzo at Kelly Park and find out what he knows. The quest has begun. Very Happy
