This is not a post about tires or coolant or anything of a mechanical nature.
Just driving my van home at 2:30 in the morning, with all the windows open, the temperature is dead perfect at 85, streets are kinda quiet, just me and the vanagon purring down the road.
Everything just seems right.
Thank you sambanistas. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

85° probably sounds hot to many - but you are quite right. At 2:30 am after a day in the 100s it is a great feeling to enjoy the desert air that has cooled down. Open windows in a Vanagon (or any open car) is perfect for that. |

Oh I can relate for sure. We have spent so many hours trying to keep these things running its quite a reward when things are purring along, not a break down in site.
Makes me feel like a champ with such joy inside as I cruise to work every morning at sunrise in my westy. Its definitely a spiritual thing for me.
May your spirit thrive in the rewards of your westy. _________________ Support Small Business.

Yep. As I sit in the floor of the galley with an array of tools and wires and mistakes and confusion as I set up my solar AUX system I can't wait till I get to enjoy the fruits of my latest efforts. I love my westy! _________________ __________

Sounds great. 85 without direct sunlight (or any sun!) and a breeze through the triangle windows = bliss. _________________ '86 VW Westy, Brown, 4spd.

I know the feeling. I'm just loving ours and can't wait for the eclipse trip this weekend. Drove mine from NJ to PA for a gig (I'm a drummer) and had the A/C cranking the entire time, with perfect engine temps, fridge running on propane and that hard-earned satisfaction of knowing that it has had a very thorough going over and is ready for action.
Here's my girl with her knitting, hanging out backstage while I was unpacking my stuff:
