have a 69. at low speeds the speedo bounces all over the place. after about 40mph it works perfectly. any hints on a quick fix or should i just live with it....

FRom your description it seems at lower speeds the cable binds up and lets loose, Bind up meaning winding up like a spring and letting go. When it lets go of the bind up the speedometer goes faster. Lubricate the cable, may be the easy fix.

make sure they are no sharp bends in the cable routing, also could be a dry cable
