I dunno - I thought it was a compliment. That's how I took the old fart moniker. We wear these names as a badge of pride Wink

meh...

if calling things the way i see them makes me an asshole i'll wear that badge with honor.

what gets me these days is the simple lack of respect for one another. i have had hour+ long conversations with some of you folks here and we may not agree on everything but our core values are very much in line.

for those of you i have chatted with, thank you. the problem is trying to have the conversation and one party just shutting down because they don't like what you're saying. that is a bullshit coward ass way to have a very unproductive conversation.

the other problem is people pretending to be one thing to a group but have way different ideas 'behind closed doors' and doing this to fit in with one particular group for fear of not being accepted. thankfully i've never had that issue. what you see is what you get. guess it's my 'don't give a fuck' attitude. like me or not, i'll sleep just fine at night either way.

anyway, i think i got a run in my fishnets. time to clip my toenails i guess

The only folks who think you're an asshole Don are the folks who really don't know you. I think your 100% authentic. You've always been there immediately if I needed to pick your repair expertise or needed something else from you. Folks need to have integrity and character and do what they say they're going to do. A trait that's rare in some age groups.
Don's the real deal as is Gary (aeromech). They can come across with the "get off my lawn" attitude but they'd be the first to show up if you needed help moving.

If you are going to be a public figure, some ribbing is part of the territory. If your living in a van down by the river you can't take your self that seriously! My travels days are about done, too many responsibilities with elderly parents and home life. I'm glad events are well attended and that someone shares the video content. Its the realm of the young, they will need the stories to bore the shit out of their kids later ( make em' listen before opening the wallet).

When I was younger I loved going to stuff like this. For a lot of the reasons Robbie mentions. Im an old fart at 50 or I've just burnt out on it. Im amazed at the people that go to events - all of them - year after year after...... Rolling Eyes That environment is not appealing to me.

I’ll keep a light on. You’re always welcome to slum around in the Pacific Northwest with us dummies

This might have been your last road trip campout, with VWs not in a parking lot.

The long road trip with friends is my favorite part of VW camping. And meeting up with friends from around, that don’t get out much.

Well that time has passed Crying or Very sad Logged the history and moved on.

I ended up cleaning up the front bumper and prepping the headlight washers - that stuff looked so nice I had to make the bus look nice. Cool

Spent yesterday and today sanding and prepping for paint. My cousin did the honors of shooting. Yep thats outside under a tree Shocked Moved the bus into the garage to cure overnight - then tomorrow another coat.

Fresh bumper.
