wondering if anyone has a fully manual sunroof out there perhaps circumventing some obsolete parts or isn't it even a possibility? |

I had a bus with broken cables and a wooden wedge to keep the back up or jam it open, worked OK unless the wedge came loose and you pood a little when stepping on the brake brought on a woooOOOSH, SLAM! followed by a similar occurence when you drove away from a stop.
Maybe some sort of strap and snaps to keep it open or closed in various positions would have helped?, I just fixed it properly and enjoyed a functional crank open roof, I miss that bus. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

just pull the crank handle off, pull the two screws holding the gear and pull the gear out. Use a small wooden wedge to start to open it and you can push it back. Pretty much all the parts are available these days new or used. The biggest obstacle to it working right is the owner's wallet. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |
