Gear ratios ?
Is one better than the other for the thing?

Mine pops 1st gear
I have adjusted plate and cable and checked the shifter linkage (can be replaced but ok enuff for now)
Checked fluid

If I hold it In place I can feel it popping regularly but every half second

Friend might have a thing trans but I have the above 2 cars if I need them

T3 is Not currently in use and $$ wise I have less in it
But both cars are worth engine n trans at least..

Having trouble selling super so thinking just pull the motor n trans n sell body n such cheap

If I remember correctly, I put a super tranny into my thing with the only difference in gears being the thing had 4.12 and the super had 3.88 r/p.
1-4 was the same. This is referring to AT and AV trannys

The super tranny may also need a nose cone conversion mount.

With the new 3.88 gear, I am able to go to a higher too speed in each gear, but it takes longer to get there. That's where a bigger motor comes in.

my super altho im going to check the number on it
'67-'72 (AH) (a) 3.88 3.80 2.06 1.26 0.89 4.125 3.67

the 72 fasty i have... depending on trans number
'71-'72 3.61 3.80 2.06 1.26 0.88 3.875 3.41
'72-'77 3.79 3.78 2.06 1.26 3.875

so im to believe that putting my 72 fasty trans in it would be the best for all around?
i drive T3s 70-75 all the time
thing and a square bout the same weight too

and my 72 has a complete D-Jet F.I. engine in it too..Hmmmmm

Type 3s never came with a 3.88 R&P in the trans. Only 4.12.

The Type 3 hockey stick is different. Use the original one from your Thing trans.
