With the suspension, torque, and low CG, that thing aught to handle like an Indy Car. |

I believe the weight distribution should have improved as well, AFAIK the stock bus was 47/53 front/rear respectively, whereas this build moves more weight further forward. |

It's getting easier and cheaper all the time... in 5 years it will be a 'no brainer' for many |

Hope so I think the 50kWh version with just the battery under the floor will be an amazing drive... the 75kWh long range version will have another 4 battery modules over the motor and will be less of a race car |

In the next week or so we hope to install the Front HVJB, DCDC, and Battery Heater in the front of the bus. I'm also building a simple cabin air heater box that will use a Tesla blower, PTC heater, and a radiator for recovering waste heat from the motor (probably just the stator cooling circuit).
Today we prepared the two Tesla chargers and Rear HVJB for installation

Mapping out locations for the Front HVJB and DCDC in the front of the bus. Note also the dual circuit brake cylinder 'upgrade' and the EV West throttle pot

Sorry to come in here and dig fellow forum members, but your 'zero emission' vehicle is by far not emission free - considering the chain of producing the electricity, the kids digging in the caves to find the lithium for the TESLA batteries, and the cost (and damage to mother nature) if it comes to recycle the vehicle / batteries.
As much as I like the benefits of electric vehicles, we are much often told a lie about the zero emissions - in reality, an electric vehicle causes more damage to mother nature than a properly engineered state of the art combustion engine.
And no matter how many people will ask the moderator to stop me from spreading bad mood, a state of the art Diesel engine still is by far causing the least damage considering the full resource cycle, not only the middle part of driving the car.
Other than that and back to the topic, I follow and like the conversion. professional work and I am looking forward to the performance of the car.
(I don't dare to ask mileage - time will tell).... _________________ '73 Beach Buggy

I'm happy to debate why I think you're wrong and provide evidence to back my assertion... however, I won't derail my build thread to do that... feel free to start a topic on electric transport in the "General/Chat" forum... that's what we did on the SSVC forum |
