I believe this is the first style of side trim used from 55 - 56 1/2, though I don't know the exact date of the change over. I don't think it carried over to the 57 model year (ie. Ghias made after July 1st 1956). |

Loren, thank you for the reply, appreciated! Its definitely what I was thinking, if anyone had a definitive date/chassis number or a car that has it from new I would be interested to know. Cheers... Anthony |

Hi, yes I had read that thread, thanks.
The trim in that thread is a different style of trim, if you look at the ends of the pic I posted they are cut off and a wedge of aluminium inserted on the cut end. This style of trim is only used from Aug 55-56? but trying find out when in 56 the cut off is. |

Thanks again Darrel, I appreciate you taking the time to look!
I read through that one yesterday too... there are a few that mention it but no specific mention of a cut off date. I'll keep looking... cheers... Anthony |

but I'm fairly certain that sometime in March 1956 these trim were discontinued. _________________ House of Ghia specializing in Karmann Ghia parts, service, and restorations. www.house-of-ghia.com |

Thanks "golde" such a nice car...
I understand that the "solid end" trim is only on two of the three side pieces? looking at your pics I am assuming its the door and rear quarter? is this true?
cheers... Anthony |
