Ahh, thanks for the clarification. Couldn't find a reference in the Bently, but can see the diagram looks to be square in shape.

You're welcome, and I think I paid $20 for a new one.

I guess I know the general idea of what a rap sheet is, but why is it called a rap sheet? What's a rap?

'RAP'='REP'
Rap sheet= List of past crimes, giving one a 'bad rap'
Bad rap= bad reputation.
It's a lazy bastardization that's older than Grampa's rubbers.

Hey guys. I'm trying to swap out my coolant level sensor. It looks like a need a big socket to get this sensor out of the coolant tank?

Ok two part stupid question.

I also ordered the temp sensor as my gauge isnt working.
I got the rubber sleeve pulled back and it looks like the collar where the sensor plugs into is all cracked/broke and the old sensor is glued into place or something. What the hells a guy to do? Confused

Cheers! Happy Friday.

Tell us model year and engine.
They are NOT all the same,
some thread in,
some clip in,
Some are on the head,
Some are in the thermostat housing,

If it is a 2.1 with the plastic thermostat housing, they clip in but you may need a new housing, they crack and go bad over time.

I hear some people know their vehicle weight.

I was just wondering- can anybody just drive up to those truck scales? I see one not far from my house on the 405 but it always seems closed.

If I pull up are they going to be saying, "WTF do you want?"

Do you have to pay?

Are trucks obligated to get weighed?

When your headlights are on, are all turn signal lights suppose to be on also?

The front amber lights have dual filament bulbs - a low wattage sidelight and a higher wattage turn signal. So they will be on with the headlights on, but blink much brighter when the turn signal is activated.

The red rear sidelights are just that. In the rear light clusters, the amber turn signal and red rear lights have separate bulbs.

As far as turn signal in the tail lights - do they suppose to be on while the headlights are on? On one of my tail lights, the turn signal stays on (while the headlights are on) - the other is off - only on when turn signal is switched on

We've passed several weigh stations in Oregon with "closed" signs lit, but the scale light on. Drove up, got weight w/front wheels only, all wheels and rear only.

Edit; Got that backwards, back, all, front.

One on a stretch of HW101 towards the north and this one on HW26 - Fully loaded tho kinda lite on beer as I recall. Never tried on an interstate. Might get some scowls there....

I think you can just go to the dump and get it weighed - if you have a dump site that charges by weight as many in CA do.
I weighed mine at a Bakersfield truckstop returning from a camping trip - a tad over 5K.

Boom. I knew it must've had a logical etymology. Another one of life's mysteries explained. Thanks.

I had the same complaint lodged against me!
Same anal person I wonder? 🤔
Didn't have the "Balls" to mention it to me, goes straight to Everett......"teacher! Teacher!" ........... probably still running dial up.......
I removed my Beetle link information, people are still interested in what a member is driving or needs that vehicle information to intelligently answer a query.

Look a few posts up about someone replacing a temperature sender..... ON WHAT????? They aren't all the same, diesel, Air Cooled, 1.9, 2.1 or a conversion??? Impossible to answer.
