Thanks for posting those. Nice bus. I am not quite sure why that one does not have the barndoor engine lid. I know that barndoor era ambulances did not have the huge engine lid, but I was not aware that Bundespost panels did not have the large engine lid.

I love that bus! That was actually at EBI and not HO (I shot those photos.) That bus is unique since barndoor ambulance's rear hatch opens at the top versus at the bottom like regular buses. The rear deck inside had special bracing from the factory that I've never seen before. Such a cool bus and James the owner was nice enough to tell us how he came upon it. While at EBI there was a Bundepost beetle driving around too.

Thanks Maurice! I knew you shot them but wasn't sure where since you guys hit so many places on your trip. This bus is definitely epic.

Apparently this was Dawn's bus (PLFVW fame) which was in an accident and severely damaged. It has been completely restored (see the lowered Dove Blue beauty owned in FL).

For the record, a speeding semi nailed them from behind. They are lucky to be alive.

It makes sense that bus used to be a Postal Yellow Bundespost bus. In the photo above the belt line and bumper color looks closer to green than black, but maybe it is just my moniter. I have seen the bus after the accident after it was redone and it is gorgeous even if it was not repainted the original color.

Yep, description wasn't meant to place blame but I edited it for clarity.

I was able to attend Buses by the Bridge in Lake Havasu over the weekend. There were about 600 buses there from Barndoors to Eurovans. I walked around and tried to look for Postal Yellow buses. Two were in attendance, enjoy the photos.

That’s Jason Stratton’s high roof. And that’s my double cab next to it. Love seeing the DC in random pictures.

Does anyone else has a Postal yellow bus they want to bring out of hiding for a Postal Yellow gathering photo op? I am bringing my postal yellow double cab to OCTO Saturday June 9th in Long Beach, CA. In addition to mine these Tiff's single cab and Cy's panel plan to be there.

Maybe we can get a line up of 4 or 5 at that meet? If you have one and can bring it down start making plans.

Here are a few few group photos from OCTO 2018. This was the Postal Yellow reunion. I was hoping for five buses, but 4 together at one time was still pretty inpressive. The last photo is courtesy of my friend Derek Boxrod Campbell.

Here's my contribution to this epic Postal Yellow lineup:

The single cab is still my favorite but they were all awesome.

Thanks Everett.

The 23 window Postal bus was for sale. He had a for sale sign posted, Do you know what he was asking for it? I'm sure it was a large number.

The owner is merz356 on here but I didn't ask him.
I'm going to guess something like $250K.

Disclaimer: Price guesses should not be confused with me giving an actual fair market value

Hi,

At the moment i'm working on a postal yellow baywindow.

It was painted green in the past but i'm restoring the yellow...

Was hoping to find a bundespost logo given the M plate, but nothing found...

The only thing i know is that it went from germany to greece to belgium to netherlands to belgium, don't know if those hubcaps or logo is original...

Congratulations, it looks like a fun project. Hopefully you have lots of original yellow paint still left under the repaint.
