But some of the houses are just pretty darned spooky.

Like this one outside of Justice NC.

(Before editing, slightly different angle, good old NC red clay.)

It was eerie seeing the furniture just as it was abandoned who knows how many years ago. (probably will be deleted due to lack of VW content).

I wish that I could have gotten closer to this old mill just down the road, the waterfall over the dam was incredible.

Maybe there's just enough VW content to not get deleted.

Here's a few pics of the Pisgah covered bridge near Ashboro & Uwharrie national forrest that I took & added here several years ago.

Built in 1911 for the whopping sum of $40. Shocked

I took the Crusty Pig for a test drive real quick & saw that some of the vultures were back ( there were 6 or 7 last time.), lighting was still not in my favor & they decided to take off when I went to get a better angle, oh well.

An old mill on the Neuse river in Raleigh NC that was rescued & renovated, & converted to condominiums in the ‘90s (which was also flooded almost up to the third floor during hurricane Fran.).

I snagged this one on the way to work this morning, the fog gives it that extra "edge". It looks to be an old general store on highway 96 on the edge of Zebulon NC, with the pace of construction, I doubt that it'll stay much longer.

I kinda wish that I left the lights off.

Lights on in first pic give it an eerie, ghostly look. Cool.

I agree--the lights give it a surreal feeling, like the van is looking right through me!

Here's a few I've posted on other threads a while back, all taken in Kingston, Ontario, my hometown:

Murney tower, there are several of these along the shoreline, built in the 1800's to defend against those pesky American's Smile . This one is now a museum:

Kingston Penitentiary (KP), opened in 1835 and has held some of Canada's creepiest and worse prisoners, to name a few: Bernardo, Olsen, the Colonel (Russ Williams). It was closed in 2013 and was to be shuttered, now a museum. Has sealed off underground dungeons:

The 'Hanging Tower', as kids we were all told that the prisoners were hung in this tower, almost everyone in Kingston has heard or passed on that story. It was actually a water tower for the prison (KP), located at the top of a hill near the prison:

The old Northwestern Pacific Railway station in Ross, CA, with the railway logo on the wall. The tracks were torn out in the 1950s, replaced by a bike/walking path. The train station is now a post office.
