Hello members,
Thought I'd see if any of you have made a latch or bought one to keep the front of the rear seat of the dune buggy secure, so it doesn't slide forward??
Only about 2" on 1my buggy, pics here. Thought some type of single post latch or??

I appreciate your ideas, slowly trying to get this solid and worth what I overpaid for it!!
Thanks,
Rick

Does that seat have a plywood base? Can you fairly easily remove and reinstall the cover and foam padding?

I use some wood T-nuts, like these, that I installed into the wood from the top side so when I tighten the bolts it pulls the nut tighter into the seat base. I picked a short bolt so it wouldn't stick through the T-nut into the foam seat padding. I installed the bolts with a fender washer just under the seat base, near each end so I could reach them easily.

Both the seat bottom and the seat back on my Buggy were attached with Velcro. The seat bottom stays in place just fine but the seat back would always wiggle loose and end up on the floor behind the front seats if no one was sitting back there. I ended up putting screws through the firewall and into the seat back to hold it there.

Thanks for the ideas! I did try velcro, even put small screws in, but just not strong enough! Yes, the bottom is wood, I'll look at the type mentioned!

Thanks!!!
Rick

Use the sew on type industrial grade velcro, not the type with an adhesive backing.

Use Black 3M Super Weather Strip Adhesive to attach the velcro to the body and plywood

I used the same T-nuts that Evfun has linked to. Mine were I think 5/6ths tough.

I've never had to pull the seats yet. They were installed in 2007 and now need to be redone since the upholstery has worn out and weathered.
