Hey there, have done 3 hrs of homework and search,
What I have is a 1956 that PO cut every mechanical corners. It has the proper front brakes, rear are 58 up brakes and drums backing plate, with wrong em.brake cables.
After doing research the problem lies from E brake handle forward, opening up inspection plate at bulkhead, there is nothing inside the tunnel! Only the inspection cover no cable no plate or cable....
So what am I missing, and what am I missing exactly? And are they available from a parts place..thank you for any help..any help...

On a 56 the ebrake cables do not run up front to the inspection cover. They run directly from the ebrake handle to the rear of the car.
Take off the rubber ebrake boot and you should see the two adjusting nuts. The cables need to sit in a "groove" at the back of the handle or they will never work no matter how you tighten them
