Not true. We now know that a Robbie considers himself a engine "builder" and not a just engine "assembler." _________________ __________

From this thread I learned that my 040 singleport heads must have come from a Type 0. _________________ '71 Westy w/ a 1776 singleport, 34P3 & 205Q. Points.

Hello yeah! The more I learn about buses, the less questions I have to ask. That leaves more time for social banter. Which is why I come here now anyway

In other news, I looked at my spark plugs for the first time in 20k miles… Turns out they should probably have been cleaned and gapped back in Colorado but I had bigger fish to fry…
The #3 plug with the threaded insert actually came out fine and looked great. The other three put up a fight and #4 almost stripped on the way in. Helloo new heads!
--
Got my flaps and thermostat rod at the Pomona Swap meet, as well as a spare preheat cable for the pre-71 air cleaners.
Drove lots of miles, had a FANTASTIC lunch with KentPS, (who on here recommended this sandwich shop? )
We swapped out his shifter in a townhouse parking lot, and I took his bus for the first drive, even though I've worked on it four times(?) Holy shit that thing is smooth. 1700cc with 2.0 FI doesn't just work, it WORKS.
Then Brian and I hit a concert, I sold some tin, a case, a crank, and some dirty car parts to fund this current engine build, and had a beer on Notchboy, thanks my man!
GingerGypsy watched the shop while I nursed my mid-day hangover.
We all hit In-N-Out on the way home… 97° and vent wings were maxed out…
…because I had to get to the beach!
On the way home, I kissed 60k miles on the odo, which is 83k since I have owned the bus. Any thoughts for a fun 100k party next year?
The speedometer is 2mph slow,

Just not the correct vintage plates. But who cares about authenticity
Edit: You have a 1969 model year? Black plates would be correct. Well played _________________ Keep on Busin'

Hey thanks for noticing! I actually hate it less than I thought I would. Part of being a "Road Warrior" was having the same plates as the Priuses I pass. I also like screwing with people at gas stations who always ask "what year is it?"
"1612, duh."

Mine was calibrated for my old 185 tires, and these new 195 rubbers are 2mph fast above 70. 1mph fast above 55. I just accept it.
