Ya,Ebay has me covered, but I sent a message to the seller to see if we could work out on an exchange instead of involving Ebay.

Rats! Sorry Sjhotz, I hate when parts come in damaged, hope you can get a new one!

That happened to me on a used VW gas can, the dents ended up being cracks
and I learned more than I'd care to know about fixing gas cans!

Even compressed air wouldn't' pop out end/corner dents like that, maybe air and some hammer work but (and I almost bought one for fixing the gas can) one of those spot welder dent puller kits would fix it.

But again, lot's of "fixing" for a new part, probably ain't worth it if you can get a replacement, but if you get to keep it, maybe worth fixing for a spare?

Harbor freight has those dent pullers for around $100 bucks I think.

Anyways, good luck!

Pictures of the entire tank or the number you got off eBay or the seller?

Welp, I attempted to work with the seller until the very last day I had to return it through Ebay, and I kept getting excuses regarding post office investigation delays. Finally used Ebay's return shipping process and got my money back. The seller is https://www.ebay.com/usr/cencaldistributors?_trksid=p2047675.l2559.

Looks to me like you handled that eBay situation expertly. Too bad you had the hassle, but well done in dealing with it. Cool

Ya,

That is why I was so loathe to return it instead of repairing it. Now I am unable to locate any and the last manufacturer may not make another run.

Bummer.

Also make sure your fuel tank level ring will fit with the screws. I ordered a tank from CIP and the mounting ring was not welded correctly.

I think that's worth using a stud welder/slide hammer and some massaging. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself look around for a more"home grown" neighborhood body shop or look for local PDR (paintless dent removal) shop as those guys can do a combination pull and massage on it....
