Hmmm... let's see... I live here in Knoxville but unfortunately I can't say we have lots of cool places to check out, especially ones car related. If you drive on down to Chattanooga there are some better options, one being the Coker Tire Museum. As for food in Knoxville, the best place hands down (for me at least) is the Hot Rods 50's Diner in Alcoa (not really that far from Knoxville, just south about 8 miles). My wife and I love to go there, the atmosphere is awesome and the staff very friendly and helpful. Also did I mention the food is terrific? They have over 70 different kind of hamburgers to choose from!

In Oak Ridge, TN, (about 20 miles west of Knoxville) they have a cool museum called AMSE, for American Museum of Science and Energy. It mostly has to do with the importance and details of Oak Ridge and the Manhattan project during WWII, it's pretty fun if you enjoy history and stuff like that.
Then of course you have the horrid tourist trap that is Seviereville and Gatlinburg, I can't recommend you go there because of the horrendous traffic and the multitude of cheap tourist shops but if that sounds like fun to you be my guest, perhaps you'll see something interesting there that I missed. However if you like nature and/or hiking you could go to the Smoky Mountain National Park that's up there, but be warned the traffic will probably be pretty high because of everyone going to see the fall leaves and stuff. You also have Cade's Cove loop that you could drive, but once again the heavy traffic warning applies there too...
Wish I had more places to recommend, but from a car enthusiasts standpoint there really isn't much here in Knoxville. _________________ 1959 Fjord Blue Volkswagen Beetle
