7pm is likely as soon as I could make it.

LOL...
If it was me, I'd just hold the GTG right when/where you are working on the new van.
Then you'd have lots of spare parts, tool kits, companionship and bright minds (well, at least for the first hour or so) right there in case anything unexpected comes up. _________________ The Syncro years (2005-16) - The 2WD years (2017-23) - Westy & WBX rebuild spreadsheet - Sanchius & Tuna: The Video

Dang, I wish I could get out of this cub scout camp training thing. Ends at 6pm and is over an hour away. The sacrifices we make for our kids.
Not much parking in my cul-de-sac. Hilarious joke to play on my wife though (hey babe, I'm not going to be around, but a bunch of strangers are going to be partying in our driveway.)
New Terrain Brewery is not far from my house. Lots of parking spots (but it can get busy). A recent GTG was held there. If Dave isn't done with his work, he can take one of my vans there. Oh, and it is Darren, right letters, wrong order.
Hope people will be around late as I would like to meet the locals.

Denver Beer Company CanWorks--Centrally located, big parking lot, good beer, fish taco food truck on Saturdays.
http://denverbeerco.com/locations/canworks/
Let's make it 4:30 PM, come whenever you can. An hour or two late certainly shouldn't be a problem.
I'll spread the word to the non-sambanista Vanagonians as well.
EDIT: RM, I just saw your suggestion for New Terrain...We can certainly do it there if you'd prefer. _________________ Joe T.

I'll leave that up to our guest from Maryland. I'm abstaining from a vote as I'll likely be so late.

I figure with Dave in town and this being Colorado and all, we'll do New Terrain since it's actually in view of mountains and might draw a Boulder van or two.
Let's say 4:30 and we'll still be hanging out for the later arrivals.

I'll spread the word in that other place as well. Looking forward to it! _________________ Joe T.

Throw in the scent of Redline CV joint grease and a hint of gasoline, and I think you've nailed it. _________________ Joe T.

Quick reminder/ thread bump that we're meeting this Saturday at 4:30 at New Terrain. I think we'll have a few of the usuals so we should be easy to spot.
I'll be sporting an alarmingly white beard and a baseball cap. _________________ Joe T.

On cue, my Syncro developed a nasty hesitation last night, feels like fuel starvation. Either the overdue-for-a-service fuel tank is sending chunks through the line, or the fuel pump is failing. I've not a nice sunny morning for crawling under it.
Hopefully I'll get it sorted this morning after breakfast with a filter and/or spare pump, otherwise I'll be in the 2wd. _________________ Joe T.

It was great seeing you again Dave. I was told 17 vans in total; we had a very good turnout yesterday. Thanks everybody for coming.
I was too busy yapping and sipping to take any decent photos, but here's one of me, Dave's new ride, and Rolf's Westy:
Hopefully we'll get another one in before Syncro Solstice. _________________ Joe T.

Is anybody planning to get together at a brewery this month? My wife and I are re-entering the VW world after selling our '66 Bus a few years back to fund house projects... we have a '68 Ghia coming to us from Oregon and have started looking around for a Syncro to be our camping/off-roading rig. We're interested in meeting folks and discussing experiences, opinions, Subaru swaps (2.5l in a Syncro specifically), tasty beers etc.
Thanks!
