How do you shorten the clutch cable on a Manx build?
Any tips or trick on installing and adjusting the Bowden tube and the cable tightness and the clutch pedal play? |

Here is an easy and reliable way.
Get three cable clamps from your local "Ace Is The Place" Store and cut the cable in the middle between the clutch throwout arm and bowden tube.
Clamp the cables together and cut off the excess cable after you have it positioned correctly and all readjusted.
Here is a pic of what it looks like when done.
This has worked for 13 years and almost 60,000 miles for me.
It's easy and cheap. _________________

My method is similar to Clonebug. I use 2 split ground bolts instead of cable clamps and put the splice close to the threaded end. _________________

Use heat shrink tubing on the ends of the cable so they don't fray and come unwound. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

I had mine cut, shortened the same length as the pan was, and a new threaded end crimped back on. Fortunately, Terrycable.com is but miles from me, but most hydraulic fitting and hose places can re-crimp cable ends. At least the ones I called locally here in So. Calif. _________________ DMZFAB.COM |
