weber 34 ict pros and cons

I thought I posted this about 1/2 hour ago but it didn't seem to make it on the forum.

What are the pros and cons of the weber 34 ict dual carb set up?

I am running a 1600 dual port with an 009, 34 pict carb, and electronic ignition, and an aftermarket exhaust.

Any opinions or experience with these dual carbs form anyone?

I've barely messed with them, but my understanding is they're a fine carburetor and I don't think you'll find many who will tell you otherwise. If you do find that person they probably had to deal with crap linkage and no balance tube between them. I think it had a vacuum port for an SVDA, but wouldn't put money on it, and I can't say if they work better with one anyhow, as I don't know. If I was going to buy a set I would check to see if CB made a linkage for them, and be sure to run the balance tube. I know the linkage I messed with was a joke. I also don't know that the throttle shaft would be bushed on these which is always a concern when shopping around for used carbs.

The only real down side I'm aware of is that it's just a small carb. No doubt perfect for what you have, but should you ever decide to start adding displacement and a cam you'll be replacing them to sooner or later. Of course, you can't throw something too large on there now to future-proof yourself, either. It's a game.

I don't know that they'll give you any added grunt or fuel economy. Maybe. I do know that if you're considering them to get rid of an off idle flat spot, it would be cheaper to try an SVDA with your 34-pict first.

I am running a set of these from CB Performance.
I have them on my 1915, 100 cam, and 009, with Thing Shop split exhaust.
Pros:
Excellent driver setup, with "decent" mileage(lots of hills and curves here in E. TN).
Excellent carbs, excellent linkage, no negative issues with function.

Highly recommend the CB Performance kit, as they jet it for your application, and it's ready to go out of the box.

Cons: they're dual carbs, syncing can be frustrating....

I’ve been running them for about 15 years now on my 1835. I really like them, lots of people will tell you to avoid dual single barrels, but I’ve never had an issue, I’m running big valve heads too. I got such a great deal on mine I couldn’t pass them up. I say go for it
009. 110 cam trimill exhaust, I worried I wouldn’t have enough carb, but they work great. Don’t know if I would build anything bigger,
CB linkage and balance tube, hose. I run an electric fuel pump due to having a FI case.
