if you havent had them fly cut yet cc them and figure the cr. then cut them to get the CR you want/need as that looks to be a big chamber(very nice chamber too). i would so set the deck hight to .035"-.040",it should run good.

Thanx ,

I'm getting them cc'ed down to 47cc, and going to run 1mm deck.

that equals 9.5:1 compression

What kind of unholy non-metric size allen key do i use on these? Razz

The cam gear came with allen heads , but the cam came with hex bolts (1/2" socket)

the allen head bolts "look" better, what would you guys use?
I have a 1/2" socket btw.

The Allen screws are 3/16"
I'm using those, iirc Webcam state 14ft/lb? Where as CB state 20ft/lb... Seeing as web made the part that the screw is being threaded into I'll go with their recommendation... With loctite.

I like to see "grade-8" here . . . Idea

Use Loctite!

Cheap, zinc-plated "grade-5" bolts at 20lb/ft. torque is asking for it!!!

That Eagle cam gear and the bolts supplied look to be made of the same Chinesium the EMPI ones are made from...
Yeah I'd have far more faith in the cap heads.

Just doing some measuring today,

I'm setting my oil pump gear engagement depth.

out of the box the engagement is 6mm (0.235")

the tang is 8.5 mm long on the pump gear.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

I've set the cam end play to 0.06 mm (0.0023")

Just waiting on my crank from CB should come in this friday,

just a quick question about breathing the crankcase, do i need a breather box and extra breathing for this engine?

I'm trying to use my "waiting on parts" time to clean everything double good and do stuff in my engine bay, anything you would recommend i bolt to the firewall while i got all this space? I'm considering a single plug wire harness
which i can hide nicely behind the fan shroud and some hidden fuel lines and such, just to keep things clean.

You need to vent the case . . . to the air filter, breather box, or somewhere, but you already know that. Wink

I have one of the "mini" K&N filters connected to the stock filler on my '70 ( it has ICT Webers) . . . it's not the best looking and I have to remove it every time I add oil.
Surprisingly, it does not seem to make too huge of an oily mess, but still, I don't like it.

My '62 that I am working on has 40IDF Webers and I am going to add a Bugpack breather box . . . venting only the stock oil filler.
If I determine I need to . . . I can vent the right rocker cover . . . not going to unless I must.

Do NOT vent the 3/4 rocker cover!

Thanks for your reply,

I have a breather hose going from my aftermarket filler to a T and then to my filter tops, was just wondering if that would be enough.

ran this setup on my close to stock 1600, never ran it above 4500 rpm much.

Late model stock will do.
If you want something else for looks you can use one of these:
