I got my 72 SB buggy back from being rewired. I noticed there is no wire connected to the electromagnetic cut off on the carb. What should be connected to that? |

should be off the spark coil, the ignition side. It was orignally daisy chained with the wire that feed the electric choke heater. Black wire as I recall |
Black wire, female connector to coil positive terminal #15, runs to electric choke heater and electrojet on the carb, so female connectors on all three "legs" of the "Y" wire. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. If the wire is not connected and the car still idled, it is likely that the plunger end of the solenoid has been chopped off. It might be worth removing it to inspect before connecting a wire that might not do anything.
Just because solenoids have a 13, 14, or 17 mm hex on them doesn't mean they need to be cranked down tight! Snug will do just fine.
