If you bunch all the 'bus won't start when hot'
& 'bus smells like raw gasoline, should I be scared?'
posts together, there are only like 27,000 originals.
EDIT: I forgot the 'clutch pedal lying on floor like a dead thing'
that's another 16,000. So we're at about 11,000. + BusDaddy's stuff. |

There was a post awhile back about haters hatin on the bay. Thats the day I realized the draw of this bus when I saw those stats back then.
Lots of lurkers, lovers and contributors in this neck of the threads for sure.
Hate it or not, Bay Pride is strong on the Samba. _________________

Maybe the baywindow vans have more problems than all the other VW's!
Mine does seem that way compared to my split and superbug! They were a breeze to bring back to life. Not this thing, jeez, 1972 fighting me all the way! Think it just wants to curl up its toes and pass away gracefully!
Not on my watch... |

My thought is The Bay Forum has many members with type 1 and type 4 engines. It's a great source of help for bugs, splits, and early Vanagons. A lot of really good folks on this site. Big thanks to all of you _________________ Keep on Busin'

And the Robbie's threads that end up in 10+ pages of non vw related memes and movie clips, that's another 5,000 leaving the total at 6,000 + BusDaddy's stuff. _________________ Brutis Patches Izabich: 1970 VW Transporter - 1776cc DP

True, A lot of social nonsense. But look how many of us Bay folks have actually met and know each away from The Forums. Many of us know a member that have met other members. I've met Bay window folk from Hawaii to New York. Shoot I met up with Ben (Hasta Alaska) in Mexico and Seattle. These friendships amongst us contribute to a lot non technical posts. After owning a bug for a few months, I don't see this kind of comrade in the Late bug forum.
So the Bay Forum may be full of shenanigans but it's a fun place during down time to learn, help, laugh, and share a beer. Geez, 6 pages on the "Battery door build thread"

Best part of the forums is the social BS and laughs.
And I agree Kevin that the late bug forum isn't as social or tight. There's some good guys but of course there is that "one guy" who train wrecks 1/2 the threads too... _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

Glad to help contribute to this nonsense.
Having met folks from here in nearly every state, I can say for certain that the bug forum isn't as cohesive.
Bus forum Robbie thread: "I'm driving across the country!"
Bus forum response: "Cool, let's make jokes online and drink beer in person!"
Bug forum Robbie thread: "I'm driving across the Southwest!"
Bug forum response: "You''ll never make it! You're an asshole! Stop telling stories!"
I know where I call home
