Hi folks,
We’ve been in the VW scene for a while and I figure we may as well have a thread showing some of the fun projects we do. We are not here to sell products or offer services. Feel free to provide constructive criticism and positive comments. This thread will also serve as notification to events we have scheduled throughout the year that we will post in the subject line.
Here’s some of the fun we have in the shop with Syncros.
We added an electrically controlled pop top conversion to this tin top.
Installed a bunch of RMW goodies
installed reverse lights in the rear bumper
Added a gas Espar, Arb compressor, inverter and house battery under the rear seat
Installed roof racks on the top and front cab area with light bars
Built a kitchenette for a single burner sink stove combo and slide out Arb Fridge
2 color LED lights
And a few other things I’m sure that I’m forgetting. Let me know what ya think
Have a good weekend
Dai,

November 4th 2017
Opt Overland and Rocky Mountain Westy will hold a one night autumn celebration campout.
Location: rsvp for details, it is in Fort Collins near the old stadium
We will have plenty of firewood and can accommodate ~50 vehicles. The grill will be going and we are providing the main protein. We ask those attending bring a homemade side dish or dessert for 4-6 ppl.
Hope to see you there.

That is a WICKED van. Not too much stuff on it, purposeful and clean. And a cool OEM color.
I saw an ORANGE Syncro headed west last weekend over Snoqualmie pass, it was decked out far beyond what I would do, and I was envious.... Sometimes I wish I could rid myself of the desire to keep a "mostly stock" appearance, and go for the head-turner.
Maybe dip a toe in the water by painting my rims black.... _________________

It’s always a question to ponder. Having two helps: I’ve got a 1977 motorcycle that’s nearly bone stock and an ‘88 that’s I’ve been adding and subtracting to for 25 years. My van tends toward stock but I sure do like the swingaway on the van in this thread.
Great pics! If I still lived in Ft Collins I’d be there.
Enjoy. _________________ - Jim

You rebel, you! I saw that orange Syncro on 99 South between White Rock and Vancouver a couple of weeks ago - cool van. _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX

Ft. Collins fast becoming the center of the Vanagon universe! I'm trying to make the bonfire on the 4th. I look forward to seeing everyone on the north side of state. Joel _________________ Joel Lane

Anyone showing up this weekend from here, please call Rocky Mountain westy or opt overland for the address to this Saturday’s full moon autumn campout. The weather looks great, although I think we’re still going to need some whiskey for the evening.

Here’s a little doka action we rocked out. We installed our gutter mounts and crossbars to fit a RTT and ARB awning. Modified an old headache rack to fit the doka, and added 5’ drawer slides in the treasure chest.

Thanks to Mike at Rocky Mt Westy and Opt Overland Experiments for putting on a great event!
Good conversation, lots of good food & drink, and a roaring bonfire keeping us warm on a cold, windy, night.
It seemed that we had a good portion of northern Colorado's water resource engineering brain-trust on site.
It was lots of fun meeting and talking with everyone!
This is just a small sample of the vans there, more and more Vanagons and people kept rolling in through the evening.
Hopefully someone can post better pictures than these.
