Is this the correct shape for the end of the front brake hose that fits into the wheel cylinder? Its for a 65 KG that I'm new to.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

And, what is the correct length for this hose? The one I was supplied is 19 3/8". Wondering if I got the right hose.

Need to decide if I can use these hoses or need to return them today.

Thanks,
Byas

No, it isn't correct.

Look at the bottom of the hole in the wheel cylinder, and see if it has the opposite shape as the fitting. I'm thinking the cylinder has the male part, and looks like the hose has the female part.

Cylinder is standard female end. If you don’t believe this is correct, can u give me or point me to pics of the right shape so I can give my supplier some reference pics? I’m in India and VW sources are sparse.

Anyone have a pic of the correct profile I can use as reference?

I found this in the classifieds. It seems to have the same shape as on the one I have. Or, is there some difference I am missing? Thanks!

I've been trying to find a picture of what I'm used to and have seen in the past, but it's starting to look like that's just how all the new ones are now... previously it was quite obvious it was a male end fitting with no countersink. To me the style shown would have a very narrow sealing surface when screwed into the female fitting in the wheel cylinder.

yeah, what I recall, and its been a long time is that the orignal hose end kind of replicated the shape of the double flare ended brake pipes. I have now looked at new ones for sale via the web and apparently from these web photos I have seen of new ones for sale, they now have the look simular to that the poster has. I suppose this style could work, the rounded end would seat on the bevelled bottom of the hole it is threaded into.

so maybe that is the current type now available???

good luck
