Can you spot the anomaly in this picture, it's fairly obvious.

Not familiar with autostick motors, but do they normally have 6 dowelpins mating crank to the torque converter/flywheel?

Good question actually those are threaded to use bolts to walk the plate off without prying

Yes rivets are loose, you can see oil stains from centrifugal force around the holes. In this case it was quicker and cheaper to source another flex plate.

If so I will get right on that.

unknown engine came out for another reason. I've got a rivet gun and an assortment of bucking bars. I've done steel rivets before, heck I've got a micro shaver and a counter bore to make the upset head look uniform when done.

Well what happened was, I dropped a torque converter bolt down into the bell housing while installing that engine (this was on the 72 super I bought last year.) Embarassed I had done that before on my 69 and when I started the engine it simply spat the bolt out. But on this one it jammed the flex plate and locked the engine. Those rivets loosened up as a result. Surprisingly, no harm done to block and internals (although we did replace the bearings.)
