most of all they are SO C O O L !
If you need a BD rear window glass, remember that all Pickups also had the same backlite up to about '63 or so. Might be much easier to find used single cab glass. _________________ Hotrods, Fords, Veedubs and Triumph Twins !

Great find! Amazing that the rear lights are still there. 9 times out of 10 they were “upgraded” to something larger.
As far a the comment about most cars in Canada being foreign, that isn’t true. The big three are considered domestic (they have plants here), and still ruled the roads here up until the 80’s. Anything imported from Europe was still uncommon here in the fifties. _________________ 53 Canadian standard oval

From my limited BD knollege, I'd say they are Rare. |
Gut feeling...roughly 1000 BDs on BD.DK...maybe 30ish with rear hatch? 3%? _________________ -StockRocks- |

That's a very good point about the domestic makes; however in my search through very old Canadian junkyards, VWs were always well represented. Not only this, but just count the number of Canadian finds in this forum. People keep thinking everything has been found, but Canada is a huge country, and VW found a great market for its trucks up there. It's arguably the best hunting ground in the world for early Type 2s. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.
