I'm sure i saw a beetle recently with some form of aftermarket electric heating device on the right hand side behind the fuel tank. It was about as big as a small shoe box and had a pipe running under the dash towards the back of the speedo? Has anyone heard of these before? |

Hi,
I think i know what you are talking about - this could be a gas heater, really good at heating the car, but dangerous if left unmaintained,
these a few on he samba - be carefull tho on buying bad conditon ones because they geting harder to find parts for. _________________ 71 1302s

I also read an english magazine that sells a heater de-mister that plugs into you cigarette lighter( if you have one or can be hard wired to the car. It looked like what I saw and is piped into the windscreen vents under the wipers....who knows really. Not a bad idea, of only it could cool as well.

You can still get most of the commonly bad parts for the SW heaters. I have a pile that I use to source odd ball parts off of. I buy every heater I can for like $10 at swaps and build good ones from the parts of many. Service lit is available on ebay.
A properly adjusted and operating heater kicks much ass. |
