Good morning Vintage Speed !! A sad day has come and I need to part with my 78.4 Okrasa crank. I've had this piece many years and myself never had it in a motor. I'm not sure it was ever in a motor I know the 36hp stuff goes for a LOT but what I've been able to gather about the 78.4 is it may be a niche group in the VW community. Can anyone give me pointers or tips on how best to market and sell this? Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided. |

Put it in The Samba Classifieds. Price high...if it doesn't sell, reduce the price until it does. _________________ John.

Thanks EverettB !! Yeah I found a few old ads but being they said 36hp I wondered if they were the smaller size. Guess I'll toss it on eBay soon and see what happens. |

$1000...people will tell you pretty soon if you're a crack smoker...adjust accordingly |
I took pictures this weekend with a mic on each lobe of the crank - I hope to list tonight on eBay and start around $200 and with luck watch it erupt I'm hedging my bet those who know it's worth will watch and get into a biding war at the end. |

Ok, Am I missing something here? This crank is for a 1600 based engine isn't it, not a 36hp? Neither this thread or the eBay listing makes it clear.
Personally, I don't think vintage crankshafts carry much of a premium if modern equivalents are available. _________________ https://instagram.com/mr.ogpaint

I will say 100% I am not an engine builder but being a 78.4 I'm guessing it's more for the 1600 based engine. This is why I posted the thread to see if the community could help me decode all that information before I posted it. |
