Hello all! I'm experiencing the AFM and other issues that are causing the quintessential bucking/hestitation in a 1991 watercooled westy. I just acquired this bus on loan. If anyone can point me towards a mobile mechanic/ or brick and mortar shop that has a vanagon guru, I am forever grateful!!!!

You could try:
Bus Lab - 3407 Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA
or

Most likely you need this " Ad id: 2088057 " Type that number into the Classifieds search.

That looks like an item most of us with similar rigs should have in our tool box. Does this problem only happen after a long drive?

Hey, this happened to me for the first time this summer! Gradual loss of power on i-80 after driving for about an hour. I pulled over, looked under the hatch, saw nothing weird, started it back up and drove 2 more hours. Freaked me out! No problems since. I guess this is the problem!

Has anyone ever reverse engineered this fix? It looks like it's just a AC filter on the ECU signal lines which we would be good to understand when the supply dries up.
