I've fallen in love with the Firestone wide oval tyres but I was a bit weary about the bias ply on the rear, radial on the front idea.
I've seen that coker tyre is making the wide oval in a bias look radial.

They don't make the F70-15 size though. The closest is a GR70-15 (overall diameter is larger 27.70 vs 26.90). Any ideas if this will be too much?

Thanks

Tony

That's a pretty tall tire; acceleration will suffer big time. And depending on the rest of the gearing, you may have overheating problems at highway speeds.

I have found that they make a FR70-15 with the 26.9 size. Still reckon its too tall? May have to go for a BF Goodrich Radial T/A instead 195/60/15

Pretty dangerous, as far as I know. Back in the day, I worked at a tire shop with some old timers who had horror stories of mixing and matching bias and radial tires... Causes some really unpredictable handling characteristics, and apparently a lot of rolled cars.

I'm probably overly cautious, but I won't even mix them on my trailer.

That's what I've heard too. Really unpredictable handling.
