Yes I did and have done so for the past 31 years. Yes flowers - likely overpriced but who (other than TDCTDI) cares? Balloons. Some framed artwork. A couple of plants - with planting services included. Opal earrings. Lunch at a favorite seafood restaurant. Afternoon hike at the local flower fields.

She is the mother of our children and the rock of our family. Deserving of everything.

The last few years I have gotten her a "bouquet" or a dozen long stem Starbucks gift cards. 12 $5 gift cards fitted into notched straws arranged in a Starbucks cup filled 3/4 up with coffee beans. She gets a kick out of it, & it lasts longer than a bunch of overpriced flowers. You can use the gift card of your (preferably her) choice.

That's clever, permission to plagiarize idea. Very Happy

Absolutely! I’m glad someone else likes the idea of an out of the ordinary & longer lasting gift.

I have always disliked giving cut flowers. I give potted roses or other plants that just keep on giving, year after year.

This year I switched it up though, I took the daughter out this morning & visited the local strawberry patch & we picked 3 1/2 gallons of berries for $30, I them took two dozen of the nicest & turned them upside down & skewered each with a straw & made a “rosebud” arrangement out of those.

Very clever idea! My wife would love to get berries for that price to make jam.

I only consider flowers for funerals.

Some men will screw their wives for mother's day and give flowers to their own mothers.

I take my wifey out to dinner. I take her to dinner every week anyway.

And we went out to dinner, with youngest daughter, at restaurant with Mrs. Cusser's favorite live entertainer.

My wife would kill me if I paid Mother's Day prices for flowers. I've always bought her a card, though.

Yes I did
She is a Mom.
I love her more everyday, even when she pisses me the hell off.

This one is a bit hard to explain: on the kids' birthdays, my wife feels sad if they don't come over to visit with her. Their birthdays seem to mean more to her than they do to them, since she brought them into the world and it's more intensely personal a commemoration to her than it is to them.

Very early in our marriage I told my wife that I love liver and onions (she does not) but they need to be cooked right. She bought the liver and I showed her how to cook it.
The next day she made me sandwiches for lunch out of ground up cold left over liver mixed with mayo!! Shocked

Lesson learned!

But if you don't speak up when a meal is bad, bet that you'll be served that again !!!

You married guys will understand this: when I wash my shirts and put them to air dry on a horizontal rack in the laundry room, why does Mrs. Cusser feel that it's OK later to lay her wet bras over my drying shirts, like her stuff matters more and she doesn't care if MY stuff doesn't get dry ??? Maybe it's her "oldest child" syndrome....
