I watch this video every so often. Such a good story.
Anyone know if that fellow ever took the '55 on it's anniversary trip in 2017?
For those who haven't seen it, go watch this right now. Far more important than anything you're doing at the moment.

I recall watching that video a few years back. It was good to see it again. Thanks for posting.
I wonder if the current owner was able to make the proposed 2017 trip around the world? _________________ nothing |

The current owner is a friend of mine.in fact when he restored the car he needed a driver's door that I had. He never did get to do the trip in 2017. The world is a lot more complicated these day to undertake such a trip. The car does continue on in its adventures as part of the 36hp Challenge landspeed racing at Bonneville. And Manu has used the challenge and the car to raise a great deal of money for the Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto. |

Thanks for posting. X2 on it being a great story. It makes me appreciate the care and passion that went into the Super that I bought over a year ago. The previous owner did it right. _________________ 1971 Super Beetle, 1776, dual Weber's, roller crank, big valve modified racing heads, close ratio trans, lowered suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes, car has over 368,000 actual miles.
