Can anyone break down the different years of rear wheel arch flare for me?

Internet says that late 71' the rear wheel arches changed to the flared arch but is the flared arch between 71/73 the same as 73/79?

I only ask because I have tried the Klokkerholm rear wheel arch panel and it is garbage. While I was looking on Klassic fab they list a flared arch but only for years 71-73 although on klassic fab UK's disrtibutor site they list the same panel 71-79.

My bus is a 77 so if the Klassic fab panel matches the flares on my bus I can go that route. Otherwise I'm stuck and may need a section from a donor.

I would loved to simply replace the whole rear driver side panel since my window sills need replacing but that panel is always out of stock and $$$

Thanks for the help

Hmmm..., not sure why KF says 71-73, it's the same part from 71-79.

That's what I think as well but wanted to check in here. I will shoot them an email and see what I get for a response.

72 only Door Frames-Lower Part (doglegs)-(rocker panel)-(wheel arch)
Has flared fender lip over tire, with no step built into the floor section like the 73-79. Because the step is, in the wrap around bumper as the 68-71.

I didn't get any response via email so I called and spoke with Gerson for a minute but he didn't have a clear answer and said he could give me more info once he was able to get to his desk. Hopefully he calls back so we know because that would be great to have a good quality panel available for the rear arches. The Klokk panels are the worst.

Has anyone ever purchased or used the KFBW1057 panel in their restos that might have more info??

So after with speaking with Gerson at Klassic Fab again it appears that their KFBW1057 rear wheel arch does in fact fit mid 71-79 buses.

I will be ordering one soon and will report back on fit and finish which I suspect will be miles above the klok panel.

Quick update:

I received the Klassic fab panel and it is a beautiful heavy gauge well made panel. Unfortunately it really does not fit correctly. I will update with pictures at some point soon but basically the front edge (towards driver) was too tall so the panel did not sit flush with the OG metal. Secondly, the profile of the arch seems off as the KF panel doesn't flare out as much vs. the original (3/8 inch less). Lastly the height of the arch is shorter than original.

The dimensions of this panel seem so far off considering KF's reputation of quality that I am wondering what is going on with the fitment. I hate to say it but at this point the Klok panel fits better even though it's a wrinkled piece of junk.

I have taken pictures and will reach out to Gerson to provide feedback maybe there is some resolution, maybe not.
