wow, bad ass!
so, it is a 68+ pan then? with custom fenders? How was the engine lid done? Use an OG lid and weld the rest? Fiberglass? So many questions, we need more pictures!
Also, are you keeping the color, or going all black like a true Heb? _________________ 1971 STD BEETLE- DD-1st car, 1st love. keepin' it stock! 1600DP, Solex 34-3 Mexi Bosch SVDA Dist NOW w/POINTS

I think I can see how that was cut together (very nice!), but yes, more pictures and information, please!
Will the engine lid fit over and close over that firewall that seems to be sticking up quite high? _________________ “If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? Great work so far but plreeeaaase clean the belt line on the "new" area since it's clearly not lined up properly.

hello, a quick update...i made the new hood today and fitted it...it will tighten up in the next few days when in rains! its a 72 beetle which had a body off restoration a few years ago and is immaculate with no rust anywhere!the beetle was also placed well in a few competitions for its good condition!ive replaced the side mirrors, the body is all steel, ive made the fiberglass deck lid but would like a reproduction of the original in fiberglass ...the hood and interior were white....and very 80"s, i have all new black interior, carpets/door cards /seats/running board rubbers which i will fit next weekend.cheers rob |

Yes, very nice.
Is it just me, or can anyone else hear that engine screaming, "Please, oh please, flip me around and make me a mid-engined car!"
Dude, it's almost an obligation at this point. _________________ "It's time you started treating people as individuals, rather than mathematically predictable members of an aggregate set, regardless of how well that works." |

i have made a bit of progress finishing off my beetle, everything is finished apart from fitting the lid and painting the rear end(had a perfect paint match mixed) , i ended up making a mold of the original deck lid i made and produced another lid so now i have a nice lightweight strong one with no body filler! this has yet to be trimmed and shaped when i fit the hinges. the engine has been serviced, new fuel pump and distributor fitted as well and is running very well .the car was restored(body off) to a very high standard a few years ago so the the chassis and the rest of the car are still immaculate with no sign of rust what so-ever and no oil leaks! the interior is complete and all new...the pics dont do it justice! till next time, cheers |

"No oil leaks"??????
A VW with no oil leaks is like a unicorn...or it's out of oil.
Nice car. Nice work!!! Can't wait to see the final pics. |

I do not see vents. How are you cooling the cylinders? |
