I was wondering.
I have a 68 baywindow that I have taken the windshield out along time ago due to broken glass.
Actually like having it out as it has become more of a shelf for my things. yoda in X-wing fighter.
Was thinking it would be cool to make a custom safari/split window for it. has this been done?

I saw many years ago that *someone* made a "safari" windshield for a Bay. It was really ugly.
How about you spring a few hundred bucks for a new windshield and get your bus back on the road? _________________ Larry in OB

this 68 that I have is more of a time capsule that I want to just keep sealed away for another 10 years or so and restore in the future.
I was just thinking a custom insert that could be made and sold to replace the windshield would be neat. I guess I could just save up for a split window if I wanted safari windows. I just have always been into baywindows.
The windshield is not a big deal to replace right now as this bus has been in storage for over 5 years.
this is the bus I drive |

This is one of those ideas that works great in your head but sucks in real life.
Honestly, I've had a Split with factory Safari windows and they leak. They always did and always will. I think it's one of the most overrated and useless options ever.
If you are going to proceed anyways the best advice I can give you is do NOT do anything you can't undo. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

Drive through a Haboob or a playa dust storm with leaky Safaris and get back to me on that.
Besides, if it's a blast furnace outside do you want a Bus with a hole in the front or A/C? _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

The Soobie it the front, and slam it. Don’t forget to make your guy check for burnt wires before he “ estimates” _________________ .ssS! |
