cheers,
most of the body mods are allready done, deguttered, bonnet and boot debadged and dehandled and the vents in the back wings removed and smoothed.
going to change the headlamps and a few other bits just to tidy up the body.the present wheels are 19" on the rear and 17" on the front but these are being replaced with 10"x 20" on the rear with 265x30x20 and the front is going 8"x18" with 215x35x18.with this wheel combo and sat nice and low it should look killer. |

engine will be an injected rover v8 with a mazda rx8 gearbox.
cant remember what the wheels are, had them for about 9 years now.
the chassis im putting under the fastback is a completely universal unit that i have designed so if anyone wants to do something similar all the parts are all available from me. there will also be front suspension wishbones, rear wishbones, gearbox mounts, floors, bulkhead, and wheel tubs.
please private message me if anyone is interested. |

I'd love to see some pics of the chassis. Sounds interesting. I've kinda wanted to do something with a Notchback, using a GM 4.3L V6 and 5 speed gearbox. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

When I lived in IL back in the 70's I went to one of those car shows.
A fellow there took a chevy car frame and shortened it and narrowed it so it would fit under a beetle . Had a big block 396 and since the V8 and trans was so long he sat in the back seat to drive it .
I don't know what the floor was yet from the outside the only give away was the lack of a front seat and the lower V panels of the hood were cut out and he installed some sort of mesh painted like the car to get air to the radiator, they didn't stand out you had to look to see them.
Around the same time Ford offered a small V4 water cooled engine that fit a beetle in place of the air cooled VW engine. |
