Bit of work, twin V8 motors and it can be a fantastic Salt Flat speedster.

Has potential.

Fantastic build! I'm surprised I haven't seen this yet. There's a few similarities with my build - I mean both will be front engine, rear wheel drive, double-wishbone suspension, two-seater Type 3 - but the similarities end there pretty much.

Great job with all the metal shaping especially, I'm starting to learn just what it takes and how hard it is to do what you do. Keep it up!

What are you going to do for a front grill?

I saw a bug at some auto show in Chicago in the early 70's . He used a narrowed and shortened Chevy frame and stuffed a Chevy 396 V8 in the front.

He sat in the back seat and used the lower area of the actual hood for the grill as a beetle has those hood panels that set in from the raised areas and he painted them to match the red car color.

He left the passenger seat in place can't say why.

No you most certainly may Not!

Actually, I raced on the Salt (Ford T ,354 Chrysler Hemi ) and the SCTA's monthly newspaper waas full of cars like that .Theres no limit to the type of car or bike you can run,the object is to go fast .It would look right at home on the salt. And some genius might power it with a bunch of VW engines ,just because they can.

cheers guys, Smile

been fairly busy, the exhaust is nearly done now with just the rear boxes to sort once they arrive.

in order to get an idea of where the rear boxes are going to go i made up a replica out of cardboard , the idea is to make it look like a after market tuned exhaust for a type 3, if you get what i mean.

while i was at it today i thought i may as well fabricate a cover for the clutch cylinder.

Looks good. But, no flanges so you can take it apart? I've worked on enough front engined cars to know better than do that, especially if I'm starting from scratch.
