I am using an optima 6 volt battery. They are taller then stock so I made a mount to hold it at an angle. Wheels got hubcaps and green hubcap trim rings. Rear wheels got 1 inch spacers to bring them out. Got the rear bumper installed and some white mud flaps. Headliner is from west coast classic interior. I installed it myself. I watched Chris Vallone's video on youtube. The video and tools he mentions helped a lot. One thing I did do that he doesn't mention in his video was use a steamer. Steam helped a lot around the back window to get some slight wrinkles out. Also got to roll the car out to see it in the sun.

The optima battery can be installed in any orientation because they are sealed. I opted to put it at an angle to give more space between it an the seat springs and still have easy access to the terminals.

I did not have any heater muffler halves with tabs on them so I used a clamp to hold them together.

Got the front and side carpet in and the front door panels. Both from west coast classic interiors. Picked up some nos door kick plates and found some good used original A-pillar kick plates. Also installed sill plates from Wolfsburg west. Still waiting on the rear door panels.

I drove the car around the block for the first time. The engine has good power and sounds good. Seems to run out of wind at about 5000 rpm according to the tach.

Very nice. I really like the sill plates and door/a pillar kick plates. The door panels are a great match to your paint.

Been working on putting this hazet tool kit together for awhile. It was very straight and only needed a little smoothing out. I blasted, epoxy primed and then blocked it out. I had the paint on the inside matched at a local auto body supply store. Then I used a navy blue flocking kit on the inside. Some of the tools got blasted and re plated. The stickers are the water applied type like original. The only things that are not original are the 3 screw drivers. They are reproductions.

Got the rear view mirror and visors on. The passengers side is an accessory. Also go a set of accessory vent trim for the rear. Placed the Hazet tool kit in the spare and got the cardboard liners in place

Finished up the interior and installed it. I had been waiting on the rear panels to come in. I also added a external oil cooler with thermostatic sandwich plate to keep it cooler on hot summer days. I built the mounting bracket and also a scoop. I’ve also been making a rear bump stop setup that bolts on. These early cars did not come with them from the factory. The rear suspension is soft and if I started out in first gear to fast the sump plate would bump the ground. It is approximately 3 inches off the ground. The bump stops should limit the travel and I can fine tune it by trimming the rubber bumper. Drove it to a show and the car ran well but needs some fine tuning with the jets.

I designed this door prop rod to hold the door open with out having to use tools to install it for when I take the car to shows. Then had a friend put the lettering on and cut it out. I then finished it.
