I see the Porsche replica kit cars for as much as $30000 dollars but they would have to be very very nice to get that for one. Depends on what it has for wheels, Engine, Paint and how nice the interior is. If its's old and faded and everything needs re-doing it may only be worth a few hundred dollars. The engine looks like a old single port maybe even a 40 horse and just has a generator (probably 6 volt) not an alternator. What is the case sn? That tells a little about the year of engine. I think the air cleaner is a 1300cc engine Air cleaner.

Know anything about old VWs? You are initialy concerned with the mechanicals of the car itself. Is the beam rotted? Floor pans good? Runs and drives fine? What year is the car built on (find the VIN# on the tunnel in front of the shift coupler access plate which will be just behind your seats). All of that impacts the car's value.

After that, then you are looking at the build quality. Is the wiring done well or will it need redone? How is the build itself? Door and other panel fit. Condition of chome (A replacement MG grill - if its a real one - is damn expensive).

Value of the car can be from a couple hundred to a max of maybe $7K. You need to learn how to post pics. There is no good information on what you have posted so far.

If you dont know old VWs - find someone who does so they can help you evaluate the car. And add your location to your signature. There may be members close by that may be able to help you.

I don't know what it's worth but I like it. If the price seems right to you then all is good. Enjoy!

Nice Steering wheel!, The Rims look like polished Empi's or some kind of similar If the are polished aluminum that would be good. Looks like 4 wheel Disc Brakes! Wonder what kind they are? The Gauges would be worth a lot if they were the kind Porsche used But I don't think those are very expensive. The Seats look pretty nice like they may be like the Porsche 356 seats. Does the car have Heat? How is the top?

I think he would be getting a good deal! You should look at some other cars kind of like it then decide. Its not really what I would call an automobile. But My old VW bus isn't either. I drive it everyday though!

Take a close look at how nicely the interiors are done on some of the kit cars.

I was game till I saw the shot of the back end, lost me there, but if you like it go for it. As much as I like old VWs I'd be hard up to trade a Kompressor for it. Have you driven it yet?
