Hey guys, I’m installing a 69 mm SPG roller crank in my 40 horse and I’m looking for some advice. Has anybody successfully drilled in utilized squirter‘s for the big end of the rod? Does the Main bearing groove trick actually get the job done? Dave Greiner at Pro-Formance can perform the mod, I’m just looking for the best option. Also, I would appreciate some compression ratio advice and somebody to verify the fact that I need to run as light a flywheel as possible. Many thanks! |

I can not attest to what works, but I have an unused Roller crank that has main bearings with notches cut.

Notched main bearings aren't a "trick" thought up by someone, but rather that's how SPG lubricated their rollers. This modification must be precisely as per SPG original. If you don't have the bearings, I'd suggest borrowing an old set to duplicate. _________________ aka Pablo, Geary
