Clunk in steering

I was in a bad accident where the front end of my car was damaged and passenger wheel bent and passenger tie rod bent as well.

The body damage was repaired and I just got my car back and there is a steering clunk in the front end. The passenger tie rod assemble and steering dampener were replaced. I worked on it all day today trying to find the problem with no luck-tried to isolate it someone turning the wheel and me underneath and it seems to be coming from the steering box area.

When I got the car back the steering wheel is actually bent in on one side at least an 1 1/2 more than the other side due to the impact. I am trying to figure out what the problem is at this point and maybe the force went down the steering column and did something to the box.

Everything looks good (tie rod ends, ball joint etc), so I do not want to just throw more money at this, but I need to fix it so I can drive it since I relay on it for my transportation.

I would make sure the steering box mounting is not loose. With that kind of an impact you could have sheared off one of the bolts.

That is a good point. I was able to move the tab on the top bolt on the steering box and that was good and tight. I was not able to do the bottom.

I need a plan of action on how to attack this tomorrow after a long day of work and public transportation. I am just really tired from working on it all weekend, and still not being able to drive it.

Shocks? I noticed a gap in the top mount point in my shocks which caused a clunk...

Ended up being the steering box.
