i was thinking of fiberglassing 1/2" pvc pipe in a area I;m fixing see any thing wrong with this |

in front of the gas tank was damaged I'm repairing that area where the fibrglass rolls over on the very front I thought I might put a peice of 1/2 pvc for a more ridge lip |

Scuff up the PVC before you lay it in to give the resin a surface to adhere to, and make sure the 'glass goes all the way around the tube. It's the tube that the 'glass forms that will make the structure, not the PVC itself as it is flexible compared to the finished 'glass

I wonder if the difference in temperature related expansion will be a problem? PVC expands a lot more than fiberglass.
Just a thought... |

Bob, you might want to look at this thread and see if using a metal support doesn't work better for you:

I'm not recommending you glass it in if you used metal. Not sure though that supporting and strengthening that area with PVC would be significantly stronger than original construction without also tying it in to the front beam. |
