I recieved this with a wood bow rack I had many years ago. I kept the canvas as I don't know if they ever come up. Not entirely sure it's original as there are no tags. Top quality construction with leather straps. Has anyone seen another?
About 10" x 42" x 52"
All of the leather straps are in tact!

I was looking through a few old threads today and found a few pics of these covers. Jack in Poland recently made some really nice reproductions.

That looks exactly like the cover my 65' so-35 had. I'm curious if yours fits the longer subhatch racks or the shorter pop-top rack? _________________ Brandon

My 65 so-35 had one. It was yellow canvas with the leather straps like the one above on the so-23. It was very tattered and ripped, but it was real. I had it in my hands. Too long a story to tell it all here, but unfortunately the property had been cleaned up and loads of stuff dumped in the few days between first seeing the bus and being able to purchase/pick it up. Still makes me a little sick. |

Here is an inside photo of that rack cover:
I like how you can see the shadow of exactly where it lived pressed against the roof rack stantions for all of those years while it was in storage. Or maybe that was from it rubbing against the alumunim upright while they were driving down the highway? You can even see where the stantion flares out at the bottom.
It's not perfect. Two straps are broken. Few insignificant holes. The material is very nice. At first I thought the black inside was mold but then realized it was from the basket oxidizing. Kind of a neat item.
Are there more known aside from this one and Drews?
Nice find Anthony! |

That is a different style. The Westfalia cover goes over the basket. |
