This was my grandfathers bug, mechanically sound, despite sitting in his yard for 10 years and then 15 years before that. Needs new floor pans, door panels, and seat covers. I patched up the floor, but hope to replace both pans soon. We just had a baby though, so who knows when that'll happen! I debated keeping the old patina for a while, but decided to spray over with the rattle can. Too much rust was starting to poke through. Rustoleum Harbor Blue 1973 Beetle.

Thanks. I debated keeping it original. If it makes it any better, I am having it professionally posing the original marina blue in the springtime. I don't plan on a full restoration, but I want to preserve this car as long as I can. |

Marinas are found in Harbors you know.
Good idea to protect it in the meantime. It's a pretty blue for a 70s bug. |
That's exactly why I chose that color! That and it was less than $4 a can. It was the closest I could find in spray paint to the original color. And it's almost winter in PA. Which means salt everywhere, I couldn't stand any more rust holes.
And thanks for your comment. |

Yeah they just salted here in northern Ohio this week so that's the end of my driving for a few months. I'm in primer. I'll have to maintain the fix with a weekly start-up to keep the motor oil circulating. I love that sound. _________________ 1966 Sportsmobile Camper https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...mp;start=0
