Hey, nice dash cover! Which brand/vender did that come from?
I have one I bought awhile ago and it's a piece of crap. _________________ Currently:

Thanks, it took me two tries to get one that I liked.
It's a:
Dash Designs
"Dashtex" material in Charcoal Grey
Part number: 1109-1XCH
The color is a little darker than the photos suggest. That same company makes them in various colors and materials. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

Those mats look like a good fit. Where did they come from? _________________ 87 Westy 2.1 M/T

They seem to be high quality and are a great fit. I got them from busdepot, some other vanagon parts dealers carry them as well.

Thanks Mike
Yes, it's a vinyl decal. It's a 2" wide, 3 piece racing/pin stripe set that I got on ebay. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

New springs (moog 5658), shocks and upper ball joints.
vs stock '85 one year only springs:

I haven't updated in a while but I've been working on the vanagon. Most notably, I installed some refurbished injectors and that made a massive difference. It now cranks up and runs really smooth and has improved throttle response.

They are oem style injectors. If your spray pattern is good I wouldn't change them. There is a member here that is now offering some upgrade ones if you want to go all out.

Hey Pinetops,
Really loving what you've done with your 85. I have the same year/color rig. But with the full camper (and still sporting the high front springs and 14s ).
I LOVE your pinstripe. I've been looking on eBay. Do you mind if I copy you? What I love about it is you matched it with the pop top. That mocha colored pop top is my fav thing about this color combo.
Do you remember the seller? I've got my sights on the exact same one....
Thx for any help! _________________ 1985 Westy Round Headlights "Liam" |

Did you need compressors to get springs out/in? What was you final ride height? How's the ride? _________________ 87 syncro tintop

Copy away! Here's what I used. You will need two sets. I went with silver.

Yes, I had to use compressors. I got some really cheap ones on amazon. Final right height went from over 18" stock to about 17" (center of hub to bottom of fender). It's still taller than the rear but it's closer. The ride is nice, a little more rigid. It doesn't nose dive as much when I hit the brakes. I did change the worn out shocks too so that has something to do with it. The moogs are a little wider than the stock springs but they do fit. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |
