I looked for an answer and came up with 10 gauge-is this the proper gauge wire for the alternator wire that runs to the starter? Thank you

On the wiring diagrams it is specified as 6.0 mm2 (that's millimeters squared). That is slightly bigger than 10 gauge and considerably smaller than 8 gauge. You should be good with 10 gauge.

You don't say what size alternator you have or what kinds of loads you plan to run, but for most peoples use a 10 gauge would be fine.

It is a 55 amp alternator I believe. I will eventually have a radio (nothing to crazy) and maybe some fog lights. Thank you for the responses.
