Just checking back in. Something caught my eye. The preheats are missing their tins.

Right here.

I believe that it needs these. I just cannot remember what year these started. So, I may be off my rocker. I see that you do have the nut in the cylinder tin for the retaining screw.

Great effort, ladies and the car looks great. Just drive it and enjoy it as-is for a while and take care of the little stuff gradually.

I think they said it was a fire suppression system. Maybe if it melts from flame it drops fire retardant?

It's definitely a great car and result from lots of hard work!

Thank you heaps guys..

Not driving yet..

Mum had a fall & been in hospital..

All good now & home..

My partner..the hard worker been crook also..

We bleed the brakes but didn’t get the correct pedal play..

Locked all wheels & clear fluid..

This was 1 of the first things we attened to on restoration.

All new brakes all round with single master cylinder.

Only thing we hadn’t attended to was the pedal assembly.

All original with 60yrs of grim..

Removed to clean & examine..

Need our brakes a1 before testing this new transaxle..

Had a quick run threw the gears...smooth as..

Will replace the clutch cable also..

When you put it all back together, get a grommet on that brake line where it passes through the body at the front.

Yes not too much rhd info here. Here's an exploded diagram which may be helpful.

Not sure about 'Straya, but here are three options from across the ditch which should be able to help you out with bits as required. That tunnel seal is unobtaineum but great job on your reproduction!

Maybe you can measure the OD, ID and length and look for a company in Australia that sells or makes bronze wrapped plain bearings.
Example in the UK:

Regards, Armand

hi,
that is a good suggestion from ovally.
I see matthew oldskool has a spring on ebay for £20 - do you want me to buy this for you and send on? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Beetle-T-1-1958-66-R...SwxblbOhhK
amazed can't find rhd pedal parts for early beetles! the following are closed just now but you could try contacting vw heritage, custom & commercial, coolairvw.co.uk to ask about bushings etc
let me know how you wish to proceed
