My apologies if my questions seem amateurish.... but then again I am
I'm going to ask a couple of questions that I would appreciate any help with.
I had another post today regarding quality engine parts for a complete rebuild. I brought up CB Performance and most agree they are really good. I have noticed their complete kits, while impressive seem high in price. If they are "the" people to buy from, I'll try my best to get the money. Are there others with similar quality like CB that can sell a complete kit (case included) for say under 3k?
The other question is my current engine case and why I might not keep it.
I looked at it tonight and saw these numbers on each side. One side was: AS41 39 043 101 102 A and the other side was AS41 45 043 101 101 A
My "dumb" question is what does the "39" and "45" mean?
Thank you,
Mark from cold NH |

You should limit this to your other thread, and answer in that one, but why do you need to rebuild your engine? _________________ 1972 1302

I wouldn't worry over those numbers that you posted.
You really want to make sure that the case has matched numbers like in the image below. Those numbers indicate that the case halves have been matched.
Regarding the CB engine kits. If this is your first engine build. They might be the way to go. I considered them for a current build that I'm gathering parts for ATM. And when it's all said and done. I'll likely be over the price of the CB kits.
