|
|
I need to do a rebuild on my 1957 36 hp engine, I wish to use the best gaskets available. In the past I have used Brazilian made gasket sets but have been disappointed with the continuity of material and or thickness of some of the gaskets. I would like to source a German made or a recommended best quality set that someone has had experience with. If someone can point to a site or store it would be much appreciated!
Thank you for taking time to read my post and supplying you any information.

Thank you for taking the time to help me, the Samba community is amazing. I contacted WW and spoke with a sales tech. He found that the 36 hp gasket sets they have currently in stock were produced in Brazil and Venezuela.
I know they will work however I’ve found that I need to purchase two or more sets in order to build matched sets of gaskets or o-rings in-spec.
I’m still looking. Thank you again! |

Thanks to CaliBob, I’ve got a set of German Gaskets on the way. They run $25 more plus $21 shipping from Australia but they are German made gaskets. I’ll post pictures and blue print specs when they arrive.
Thank you CaliBob and Samba! |

I'm curious as to what gaskets are not in spec in the Brazilian kits? I've used those for years, and haven't seen any major problems. Although it is nice using German quality parts, I'd rather use a new Brazil made gasket than an old brittle German one. Like a cork valve cover or dry main seal for example. |
