Had two minor oil leaks start up at about the same time on a 1400 mile trip. The rock hard distributor o-ring started leaking as did the incorrect drain plug o-ring. Made quite a mess for the little bit of oil lost, about 1/4 of a quart.
Makes the POS look a little worse than normal. |

That'll buff right out.
Didn't know a leaky oil drain plug could cause that kind of mess.

The eddies take the drops and deposit them on the back of the van, same thing has happened to my bay when it has gotten a leak. |

The POS is pretty ugly and may well turn someone's stomach thus sticking in their mind. You probably didn't see it at night as even in a lighted parking lot the dull dark paint makes it disappear. In a poorly lit parking lot I have come close to walking right into it as it doesn't show at all, a true black hole.
There is hope we may slap a coat of paint on it soon though. It will hardly qualify for a POS anymore if we do so. The mechanicals and interior are vastly improved from when we bought it.

The van is just rustproofing itself. _________________ 1983 Vanagon Westfalia Air-cooled
